Phillipia Pottinger, LMSW
Therapist
Phillipia Pottinger (Phillip-ee-uh Pot-in-jer) is a deeply committed trauma-focused therapist whose work centers on healing and empowerment for children, adolescents, parents, and survivors of trauma. Phillipia is a proud two-time graduate of the University of Connecticut. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Sciences and went on to complete her Master’s in Social Work with a concentration in Individuals, Groups, and Families.
Her therapeutic work goes far beyond children, adolescents, and young adults. She is equally devoted to supporting parents navigating the challenges of caregiving, and trauma survivors working to reclaim their stories and rebuild their lives. She has experience in working with youth and parents who may struggle behaviorally or have trouble navigating transitions in their lives. Along with using play therapy, she is trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Her trauma-informed approach is rooted in many things- empathy, cultural sensitivity, and clinical expertise, creating safe and affirming spaces for clients of all backgrounds.
At the core of her mission is a belief that healing is possible and that mental health education is vital. She works tirelessly to break stigmas, build trust, and help others not just survive—but thrive.
Phillipia is ready to help you take that first step, build meaningful connections, and start your healing journey!
