Michelle Carey is a licensed clinical bilingual social worker with over 6 years of experience in the mental field. Having been born 1st generation of her Hispanic family, Michelle has a unique view of assimilating into the American culture and understanding of how difficult it can be to adjust to different family norms/values.

Michelle has worked with with clients from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Michelle has developed a unique multicultural view and competence. She has served clients in school, in- home, group home, and outpatient settings with concerns ranging from dual diagnosis, borderline personality disorder, substance use addictions, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, adjustment, social anxiety, anger management, parenting skills and also provided psycho-education to children about emotions, social skills, and coping skills.

Michelle specializes in trauma, crisis intervention, behavior management, and in cognitive behavioral counseling. Michelle has been trained in evidence- based treatment approaches. She has experience with individuals, group, and family counseling. Michelle uses person centered and system approach to help clients navigate through developmental, interpersonal, and communication challenges.

Through Michelle own acculturation process, she has interest in helping others find their own unique identity and fostering their own values/ beliefs , growing confidence, and empowering themselves. Michelle hopes to create a safe space for clients to be able to feel vulnerable in order to help client feel empowered through their healing process.
