Jenna Harma, LPC

Therapist

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have worked in the mental health field for many years. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and their families. My clinical experience includes working with youth ages 5 through 17 in a variety of outpatient, crisis stabilization, and short and long-term residential treatment settings. I have experience treating clients with an assortment of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges including anxiety, depression, disruptive behavior disorders, adjustment disorders, mood disorders, and parent-child relationship issues.

I am currently in training to become a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) with the Association for Play Therapy. I am a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and an active leader with the Connecticut Counseling Association (CCA), serving in many different roles over the last 15 years.

I work closely with collateral providers, schools, and community agencies including the Department of Children and Families and Juvenile Probation to facilitate addressing clients’ needs in all areas. My approach is prescriptive to the client’s presenting problem and identified goals, meeting children where they are in order to form a safe and comfortable therapeutic alliance. I have a strengths-based style of treatment, utilizing child-centered, solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, and play therapy techniques to best support my clients.
