Henry Willis, LMSW

Therapist

Hello! My name is Henry Willis and I am a school-based clinician who received my LMSW from the University of Connecticut. My personal and professional values intersect in a way that has motivated me to ‘practice what I preach.’ Many of the evidence-based techniques and discussions that I bring to the therapeutic environment are ones that I’ve applied to my own life. Central to my work is the belief that lasting change requires the patience and investment of someone outside oneself to fully grasp our unique experiences, challenges, and perspectives. It is through this intimate sense of being understood that we begin to find the courage to break off the shackles of our unhelpful thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, and young adults in both outpatient and educational settings providing psychoeducation, coping skills, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and many other techniques to support this population’s unique developmental and behavioral needs. Through collaborating with families, school staff, and other outside supports, I understand that change doesn’t happen in a vacuum. Whether your student is suffering from depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, life-transitions at home, chronic illness, neurodevelopmental struggles, or other challenges, I am here to help.
