Amy Heileman, LPCA, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate who is dedicated to helping people reach their best selves through goal-directed therapy. She earned her Master’s in Counseling and Human Services from Post University. She has worked in a variety of settings including community outpatient, in-home models, intensive outpatient and private practice. Amy utilizes a client-centered, trauma-informed approach to navigate the healing process with her clients. She recognizes that it is not always easy to finally surrender and say, “I need help!” Amy pulls from various modalities such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused and Motivational Interviewing to find a good fit for each presenting issue.
Amy has been a State certified Sexual Assault Crisis Counselor, working with survivors and their families with a Trauma Informed approach. She was also trained and certified in the Multidimensional Family Therapy model. Amy has provided Intensive Outpatient services to children 12-18 with the focus on teaching the kids DBT skills to help manage their anxiety and depression. She builds rapport with her clients, by using an open-minded and compassionate approach, making sure each client knows that in her office, there is never any judgment.
